The Poetry Fairie

Today I have written six poems.

"The Poetry Fairie was here again
while you were out," I say.

"Does that mean
you have one less poem
and one more quarter?"

The Poetry Fairie is not
like the Tooth Fairy.

"No,
You know better.
Poets with big books of poems
are always broke...

I have six more poems
and six less quarters."

The Poetry Fairie lives in a Penthouse on Park Avenue.
